Brand Info

Otter Wax

Back in the early 2010's our founder, Chris Chase, was struggling to find a natural wax product to protect his favorite Filson rain jacket, an essential piece of outdoor gear that can last generations with the proper care.

While a few fabric waxes could be found, they all contained animal fats, petroleum distillates, mineral oil, or chemical preservatives. These ingredients contradicted Chris' love for outdoor activities and it seemed absurd to use these environmentally harmful ingredients on a jacket designed for those who love getting out into nature.

While the product hunt could be considered a failure, it was also the catalyst for what would soon morph into an obsession with formulating and making what would become the very best all-natural fabric wax.

Care Instructions

This all-natural formula is completely free of harsh chemicals, preservatives, and synthetic fragrances, making it safe for all types and colors of leather. It's easy to use, simply apply a small amount to a clean cloth and massage into the leather. This treatment will not only make your leather water-resistant, but it will also prolong the life of your leather goods as it nourishes dehydrated leather and restores luster and shine.

Use a soft lint-free cloth or Buffing Cloth to create a small divot in the center of tin.
Press and swirl cloth until the consistency of the Boot Wax is soft and smooth.
Begin by applying Boot Wax to a small section of leather using smooth circular motions.
Move onto the next area and continue until you have applied treatment to the entire item.
Allow apx. 20-40 minutes for the treatment to settle.
For best results, allow your item to rest in a warm, dry place for 24~48 hours before first use.
Reapply as often as necessary.
