Sylvana and Loes, the creators of Kleine Schobbejak make children's clothes that fit in with the perception of children. Playful and magical, their jackets and vests inspire connection to the land and the worlds of imagination.

Syl and Loes have been inspired by the Rudolf Steiner's Waldorf school their children attend, and by the whimsical books published by Sibylle Von Olfers, such as the story of the Root Children.

They believe a coat should not be too tight, "because that is not comfortable when you climb a tree!" They would like to see children clothing a little more playful, and they have created it.

They use certified natural fibers such as wool and cotton, and even make the buttons of their Spring and Autumn coats themselves from the wood of fruit trees or golden laburnum. They cut and sand the buttons and finish them with beeswax.


(schobbejak is Dutch for rascal, and 'jakje' also means 'little coat')

We feel these pants run a size big. They are extra long with cuffed ankles that allow for growth. If you have a narrow kid, we may suggest going down a size.

These pants have a comfortable loose fit, with an elastic waist. They come unwashed - so you can expect an inch or so of shrinkage after laundering.

European sizes are based on your child's height - for the best fit choose based on your child's measurements.

18-24 months - 86/92cm = 33/36 inches tall
3-4 years 98/104cm = 38/41 in
5-6 year 110/116cm = 43/45.5 in

Machine wash on cool or warm setting.

Air dry, or machine dry on low with like colors.

Air drying is recommended for greatest care.
